Mestalla will continue to be a food distribution centre for families in need, with the extention of the collaboration agreement between Valencia CF and the Banco de Acción Solidaria charity for another year. Through the arrangement, the Banco de Alimentos food bank hands out foodstuffs at the stadium.
After a year working together, more than 644,875 kilos of food distributed and 32,135 people helped, Valencia CF plan to keep assisting what is an important cause -especially in the difficult times arising as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ricardo Arias, a Valencia CF ambassador and someone who has been present at many of the distributions that have been carried out at the stadium, pointed out that "the facilities are the most appropriate for the circumstances, and the contribution by Valencia CF is more than necessary for this type of event."
The president of the Banco de Alimentos, Jaime Serra, thanked the club for its help from the first day, noting that “from that moment on, there has been support of all kinds from them."
The initiative also boasts the support of entities such as Obra Social de CaixaBank, a collaborator with Valencia CF and Banco de Alimentos. The person in charge of social action in the Valencia region, Encarna Alcaide, expressed that she was "delighted to be able to help, with the hope that one day we can celebrate the end of these queues."
During the summer months, special distributions will be carried out for all school age children who need help in the educational break.
